He purchased 60 laying hens for his agriculture project. By High School graduation a few years later, he had more than 800 eggs. The son of a dairy farmer, Larry was always drawn to poultry, “Chickens have always been my first love. I was working for my dad on the dairy all day and tending to the egg business after that.”
Pam Zweifel is the granddaughter of poultry industry legend J.A. Hanson of Corvalis. Hanson raised White Leghorn chickens and was the first poultry breeder in the world to breed a strain of birds that could produce more than 300 eggs per bird per year.
